World Book Night

We had a great time in the City Museum handing out our books for World Book Night, and met a lot of enthusiastic book lovers. We hope that you all enjoy your book, and don’t forget to pass it on to friend when you’ve finished reading it.

A special thank you to the other book givers, including staff from Waterstone’s, who came along and swapped books with us. We were running a bit short at one point, so fresh supplies were much appreciated. With their help, we were able to share around 150 books.

We’d love to hear about how other givers shared their books. There were at least 179 Leeds givers out there, so whether you have a story to tell about how you gave your books away, or how you were given one, post a comment and tell us about it.

If you didn’t manage to get a free World Book Night title, or didn’t get the one you really wanted, you can still borrow them from the library via our online catalogue.

  1. After leaving some of my copies of Dissolution at the museum I sent some to HMP Leeds (Armley) for their library, gave some to friends (including posting one to Brighton), shared some with fellow Bookcrossers and work colleagues and finally gave one to the quizmaster at tonight’s pub quiz!
