The Radio 2 Book Club – Gold by Chris Cleave

The next book to be discussed on the Radio 2 Book Club will be Gold by Chris Cleave.

Gold is set against the run up to the London Olympics, and the gold of the title is being contested by two young female cyclists. It is described by the Booktopia website as being about, “love, friendship, loyalty, ambition, sacrifice and courage”, and by Radio 2 as a “physical and emotional journey.” If that sounds like your cup of tea, find out more about the book, and download an extract, from the Book Club website.

You can catch the book club on Monday 11th June from 18.00, as part of Simon Mayo’s 17.00 – 19.00 Drivetime show. If you missed previous shows, including discussion of Mark Haddon’s The Red House, and Snake Ropes by Jess Richards, you can catch up via the website.
