Writers in the Rafters – looking for new members

Writers Writers in the Rafters, Leeds Central Library Writers Group, presents Painting by Words, a selection of short stories inspired by the art in Leeds Art Gallery. At the top of the Central Library, at the end of a panelled corridor, following the tiled floor to an arched doorway, meets an eclectic group of writers drawn from the corners of the city.

Working closely with the ArtGallery, each writer chose a piece of art to base their story on. Once completed, the work was compiled into an end of year book, with two copies donated to the Local Family History Library. Each writer also recorded their work in Studio 12 and a talking book was produced, with a copy going into Central Lending and Local Family History Library and a copy playing till the end of December 2012 at this years writing Britain Exhibition at the Central Library.

We are now looking for new members. The group is friendly, informal and free and meets every third Thursday of the month in the third floor meeting room at the Central Library, with the next  meeting 17/01/2013 at 1:45pm.
