Elmore Leonard and who next

 image-mediumAnyone who wants to read some Elmore Leonard, who died yesterday, can choose from a whole range of his books which we have available in Leeds Libraries.

As a very popular author, his books were adapted several times for film ( some well known ones are Get Shorty, Out of Sight, Hombre, Jackie Brown), but apparently he wasn’t always pleased with the results. He originally wrote westerns and these were the first stories to be sold to Hollywood. The last stories to be adapted are “Fire in the Hole” and “Ridin’ The Rap” as  TV series Justified,  For a fascinating insight into this, here’s a link to an article in the Daily Telegraph by David Gritten on what the author thought of Hollywood’s take on his books.
