Unloved: The books that were left left behind

image-medium (17)The most discarded books last year according to a budget hotel chain’s compilation are the following twenty, topped by E. L. James Fifty Shades of Freed.

You wonder why people chose them in the first place and where. Airport? Rail station? Library (hope not if they’re discarding them) Travelodge staff say  22,648 books in total were left at their hotels last year — that’s up from the previous year despite the rise of the eBook.

Perhaps once read they weigh people down or they’re not the sort of book that you return to. I’d have thought The Great Gatsby might be one that people would read again. Perhaps started it and didn’t fancy continuing …

A couple or more biographies creep in – including Dawn French, David Walliams, Cheryl Cole and Bradley Wiggins.

Anyway, it remains a mystery but Leeds Libraries have got copies of them all so if you fancy making them feel a bit more loved we’d be delighted if you borrowed them.

  1. I don’t know if it’s just me or if perhaps everybody else encountering problems with your site.
It appears as though some of the written text on your content
are running off the screen. Can somebody else please
provide feedback and let me know if this is happening to them too?
This could be a issue with my internet browser because I’ve had this happen previously.
    Thank you

  2. Hi there! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing many months of hard work due to
no back up. Do you have any solutions to prevent hackers?
