Tom Clancy dies aged 66

image-medium (9)Sadly, best-selling US author Tom Clancy, known to millions for his Jack Ryan series of novels, has died aged 66.

Tom Clancy has written many best-selling spy and military thrillers and several of his books feature CIA analyst Ryan and have been adapted into successful films, including The Hunt for Red October (which sold over 5 million copies) and Patriot Games. Clancy was renowned for his military / technical accuracy.

According to the New York Times, Clancy died in a Baltimore hospital near his Maryland home.
