Prizes: First: £500; Runner up: £200
Entry fee: £10, Optional Critique of Chapter and Synopsis: £25
An opening chapter of up to 3,000 words, plus a one page synopsis outlining the balance of the story. This is an annual competition.
The Times/Chicken House Children’s Fiction Competition
Closing date: 1st November, 2013.
Entry fee: £15.00.
The prize is a publishing contract worth £10,000.
Each year, children’s fiction publisher Chicken House and The Times newspaper team up to find the very best undiscovered children’s writer. We are looking for original ideas, a fresh voice and a story that children will love.
The winner of the 2013 competition will be announced at the end of March and the 2014 competition will open for entries shortly after.
